HOLDING
LITTLE HANDS FOR THE AMERICAS LUCHEON
This luncheon is held every other year to call
attention to the millions of orphaned and abandoned children in
the Americas and to promote goodwill throughout the hemisphere.
It raises
critical funds needed by organizations that help disadvantaged
children. The winner of the prestigious Ivy Humanitarian
Prize is announced at the luncheon. In addition, a silent auction to raise
funds for the organizations is held in conjunction
with this luncheon.
This is a biannual event is usually held at the

Lady of the United States usually serves as Honorary Char of
this event.

in Ecuador, Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Nicaragua,
Haiti, Bolivia, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru and the US. Through this event, IIAF has acquired
the funds that furnished a nursery in Ayacucho, Peru, helped keep
a home for unwed teenage mothers running in Recife, Brazil, and

SILENT AUCTIONS
IIAF raises a significant amount of funding through
silent auctions organized by the Ivy Peru Committee. The most prominent event is the annual Silent
Auction, held in Washington, DC. sometime in November. In
a pleasant low-pressure atmosphere our guests enjoy leisurely
conversation and frequently live music and hors d'oeuvres, while
perusing and bidding on fine arts, indigenous crafts, and various
other quality items often donated by generous and committed individuals
or organizations. Items have included travel packages, airline
tickets, paintings, wine and jewelry.
This year's Silent Auction will be held on Friday,
November 10, 2006 in the Hall of the Americas, Organization of
American States. To be added to the list of invitees for future
Silent Auctions, contact us at ivy_peru@hotmail.com
